Welcome to Year 2!
In an effort to streamline our site, and make it more mobile friendly as that what most of you view this on, we've put all three levels together in one outline to make it easier to pull up for all your kiddos at once.
The school year is broken down into 3 terms - 180 days of school - 12 week blocks. Feel free to use these weeks however you'd like- be it a traditional schedule, year round, or some combination in between.
The videos below are explanations of how we have this structured, and the other is how our family actually implements this all- and we do have one kid currently using each of the three levels.
2018/2019 School Year
We have three levels - Littles (ages 5-7), Big Kids (8-12) and Teens (13+).
If you have kiddos under the age of 10 or so- I HIGHLY recommend you read Better Late Than Early by Dr. Raymond and Dorothy Moore. This was LIFE CHANGING for our family-- we saw the damage we did to our oldest, fixed it as best as we could, and went about it using their methods with our daughters-- we can truly see the difference the approach makes. We will not push much on the younger kiddos here with our program. We offer the basics- as much or as little as they are interested in, include them with as much as they're interested in around the home, and really don't have anything school wise that's "mandatory" until they hit that Big Kid level.
For our Big Kid's we really focus on the core skills - math, reading and writing. It's so very important that they have a solid foundation on which they will build off of for the rest of their lives.
For the Teen's we like to bring in the real life application skills. I know many of us can think of a million things we had to learn in school... and haven't used since. But real life skills like taking are of a home, cooking, finances were mainly left out-- I know I don't want that for my kiddos. During the teen years I want to focus on preparing my young adult for their upcoming journey into the world- solo.

We hope you have an AWESOME school year! If there is ever anything we can do to help, or anything we can lift up in prayer for you, please let us know! xoxo
