The Minimalist Homeschool - Let's get started!

Originally I started compiling all of our minimalist homeschool plans and resources to be used for the 2017/2018 school year. The more I'm working on it, the sillier it seemed to not release any of our plans until September! (That seems so far away!)

I am working at a furious pace to get all our plans loaded into the website so that you can have access to them and can finish up the 2016/2017 school year with us! Woo hoo! I will get a full resource guide posted once it's available and the 13 week school program will be posted for the Littles (Ages 5-7), Big Kids (Ages 8-12) and Teens (13+).

Our whole plan for all of this is to hopefully help families that are sick and tired of feeling consumed by stress, by stuff, by difficult schedules and the fear of failing. We take a minimalist approach in many aspects of our lives--

a mass decluttering of our home in the physical sense (which we'll really hit this Summer),

by letting our children learn at a natural pace vs. the forced rush of modern education,

we keep God at our center and really focus on our children's (and our own) moral character,

encourage children to follow their interests while still laying a solid foundation of core educational instruction,

focus on family bonding and relationships- the extra hustle n' bustle of society will come with time, the family unit is the core focus.

What exactly are we offering?

The Minimalist Homeschool will post an online breakdown of a 13 week program running from the end of February/beginning of March until the end of May/beginning of June.

There is a tailored program for kids that fit into one of the three categories - Littles, Big Kids & Teens.

Each category has a daily instruction covering family Bible, Reading, Writing and Math.

There is also a weekly plan to cover family projects focusing on Baking, Science, History, Crafting, and Physical Education.

The program plans, and the majority of the online resources linked in, are provided 100% FREE of charge. There will be a few books and items that you'll need (if you don't have already) and they will be linked for you through Amazon. We use Amazon for nearly everything (quick, easy, cost effective and fast shipping to my front door? YES!) but a perk of this company is that our family can earn a little kick back for sending business their way. We'd appreciate it if you would click the links we provide since 1) it's the material we recommend and personally use for our kids and 2) it offers our family a way to really move toward expanding and growing this website with more and more resources for God focused, minimalist seeking, homeschool families.

We have three children, extended family living with us and are small business owners -- easy and affordable is the name of our game! ;) This whole program is designed to be simple and as low cost as possible!

What do you need to do?

The site will go live as soon as it's ready (hoping by Saturday/Sunday), ideally to be started next Monday the 27th.

You will need to visit our site, select the age group of your kiddo(s) and then each day just follow the list. Easy peasy! :)

Here's a few items we'll need in the first week:

-- Journal/note book (All Ages)

-- Homer Price (Littles)

(There is one craft project, one baking and usually a science experiment -- each week, or month, I recommend you look forward to see what activities are coming up and what materials are needed. You can move those around as needed since we just do one of each per week, or feel free to substitute/skip.)

Connect with us on Instagram and join our Facebook group! This way we can answer any questions, help and encourage one another, and really create a tribe, a community of support and love! This process can be a difficult and isolating process sometimes- let's not let that happen!

Relax. :) It's all going to be ok, our kids will learn, they'll get to where they need to be. We can play, have fun, and it's all going to be a-ok. No matter what struggles you're facing now, prayer and focused hearts are what we need. Here's a great book that helped us to really keep it together while figuring out the whole 'homeschool thing.' Definitely worth a read!

That's it! I cannot wait to connect with you all-- now off to finish compiling info on the website! ♥

You in?
