Unleavened Bread for Passover ✝

Happy Passover!

Even if you aren't taking today and through to next Monday to honor the Passover celebration / Last Supper -- here's a SUPER easy and really yummy Unleavened Bread recipe to give you a little something to pull in and eat like Jesus and the disciples did leading up to His death and resurrection.

I found this after pouring through dozens of online recipes, and we made a small batch at first to see how we liked it. It's delicious and we're no longer worried about how we're going to survive until next week with 0 'regular' bread!

UNLEAVENED BREAD FOR PASSOVER

1/3 cup oil (I use organic sunflower)

3 tsp honey

1/2 cup hot water

1/2 cup milk

2 cups flour (we used 1/2 organic whole wheat and 1/2 organic all purpose)

Preheat the oven to 425!

Mix the oil and honey in a large bowl.

Add the hot water (ours came out very hot from our tap, you can warm in the microwave for a minute instead.)

Mix in the milk.

Add the flour. The dough is still pretty sticky/wet at this point.

Pour a pile of flour onto the counter (1/3 cup or so), pour the dough out onto the flour. Sprinkle more flour on top of the dough. Now knead the dough in flour until it becomes easy to handle and no longer sticks to your fingers.

Divide your dough up into pieces - we ended up with about seven. Take each chunk and work it into a flat shape (you may need some more flour on the counter where you're working with this) - you can try some thinner and some thicker to see what you like best. Something not too thin but not super thick is where we tried to stay.

Place your bread on a cookie sheet and bake for about 7 minutes on each side. The bread is done when it's slightly browned on each side.

Enjoy! It tastes so good hot from the oven! We're planning to eat plain at dinner, eat with lunch meat, cheeses, etc... for a lunch platter, and even make little personal pizzas! Yummm!

Enjoy! Lord- we thank You for this special time of celebration and reflection! Amen! 🙏
