Rich and Poor | By Travis Garcia
(This poem was written by our son, age 13, today. He has always battled with his dyselxia and avoids writing and anything to do with poetry/rhyming like the plague. We were so impressed when he brought this out today and read it to the family- I had to share. #proudparents)
Rich and Poor | By Travis Garcia
To those who have money,
and have lives sweet as honey.
To those that have much food,
but have a sour mood.
To those that are not humble,
and make the poor tumble.
I say to you- when you die,
in your suit and tie,
the man more pure than the purest gold
will come to you and say,
"You can not enter my kingdom that lasts forever
for you lost your heart in a burning house."
But to those who don't have money,
whose live's aren't as sweet as honey,
But to those who don't have much food,
but give what hey have.
And always have a good mood.
To those who are humble,
and hate being praised.
When they die,
the man more pure than the purest gold
will come and say,
"You gave me your heart,
you saved it from the burning house,
for this come to my kingdom that lasts forever.
There you will be the man in the suit and tie,
you'll eat for fun,
you'll be rich
and praised for being humble,
you'll never die,
you are my child."
